Blue Star Sportswear is a Midwestern company that specializes in the sports of track & cross county. Blue Star was founded in 1982 by Dave Bartels, a native of South Haven, Michigan. Dave is a former collegiate runner (4:11 miles, Aquinas College, Grand Rapids, Michigan) and high school coach (Racine Case High School, Wisconsin).

Blue Star has been an innovator over the years with custom garments. Very early in its history, Blue Star did custom colored warm-ups. Later, affordable, moisture management, sublimated singlets were added.

Today, Blue Star has expanded by adding Gill track equipment, plus Brooks, Insport, Holloway, New Balance & Cobblestones. Blue Star is the largest Brooks team dealer in the country.
